SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST: KEN MEYER JR. 

Ken Meyer Jr. has been reading comics since he was a child, from which he first started to learn how to draw by tracing from them at his grandmother's kitchen table. He was nominated for an Eisner, the Oscar of the comic book industry. He is inspired by many comic artists, commercial illustrators and fine artists of the past and present.

Ken has done work for comics, books, magazines, CDs, and role playing games. He worked for two years at Sony Online as an artist on the popular online game, Everquest. He has had work featured in seven volumes of Spectrum, a juried compilation of the best fantasy and science fiction art of the year. He has done paintings of musician Tori Amos for her tourbook, as well as the RAINN benefit calendar he assembled for six years, and contributed to the massive collection of sequential stories based on her songs called Comic Book Tattoo. He has also done art for DVD packages, the Veronica Mars television program, and a poster for Bell Helmets. He had a gallery in an issue of Heavy Metal Magazine and has a children’s book called Lucky Lionel. Some of his most well known work was done for Magic the Gathering, including cards such as Ernham Djinn, Guardian Beast, Kird Ape and Dark Ritual. He has also done hundreds of altered Magic cards to date, and is always open to commissions of any kind.

Ken has a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Illustration (summa cum laude), and an MFA in Sequential Art.
